Halcyon Gallery presents an exhibition of original, highly collectable and rare prints by some of the most celebrated masters in the world. Sourcing this work and making it available to own has become increasingly difficult as private collectors all over the world and museums are recognising the importance that graphic art plays in our history. We scour the world looking for the best individual pieces in perfect condition and we look forward to welcoming you all to view this amazing collection.
During the 20th century artists revolutionised Graphic Art – placing it on a level plane with painting and sculpture. Artists, such as Joan Miró, were so devoted to this form of art they installed printing presses in their own studio so they could dedicate their time to it, experimenting and broadening the possibilities. This mode of art became the vehicle through which artists such as Warhol were able to express their views of the world, imbuing it with further intellectual and social relevance.
In exhibiting these graphic works we can also understand the influence and progression the artists had over contemporary artists today.
Halcyon Gallery’s Master Graphics exhibition illustrates the dedication that the greatest artists of the 20th century gave to this medium and the influence they continue to have over today’s artists.
