Chihuly at Fairchild

Chihuly at Fairchild (part of Art at Fairchild) is a new garden exhibition by Dale Chihuly at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Florida. The exhibition opened in December 2014 during Art Basel Miami. Comprising 23 installations it is Chihuly’s most comprehensive and ambitious garden exhibition to date. Art at Fairchild, is a seasonal program that invites international artists to display their works throughout the 83-acre tropical oasis. Previous artists who have exhibited as part of the programme include, Roy Lichtenstein, Yayoi Kusama and Yoko Ono. This is Chihuly’s third exhibition at Fairchild, the exhibition will be on view until May 31, 2015.

Chihuly’s Garden Cycle initially stemmed from his fascination for glasshouses. His exhibitions within botanical settings date back to 2001, commencing with his exhibition at Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago. Chihuly has subsequently exhibited at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (2005) and at multiple sites across the United States including recent exhibitions at Desert Botanical Garden and Phoenix and Denver Botanic Gardens, Colorado during 2014.
