Mitch Griffiths, Realisms

Mitch Griffiths

Celebrating a key moment in Mitch Griffiths’ career, this volume provides a concise overview of the virtuoso painters’ work from 2005 to date. Working in oils and echoing the tableaux of the Old Masters, Griffiths produces modern paintings that address issues of identity and inclusion, obsolescence and conflict.

This volume was published on the occasion of Griffiths’ exhibition, Realisms, at the State Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg - one of the world’s largest and most prestigious museums of art and culture. The catalogue includes full-colour illustrations of the 21 exhibited paintings as well as essays by Mikhail Piotrovsky, Dimitri Ozerkov and Catherine McCormack.
