Volare was selected by the residents of Cadogan Place in Belgravia as the focal point of their private gardens. Featured in Halcyon Gallery’s sculpture trail and installed on 10 January 2011 in order that it might ‘grow into its landscape’ by the summer, it depicts a man with his arms outstretched as if in flight.
Freedom! To open one’s arms and feel the unabated expression of happiness flowing through every pore of your fingers. I have always envied birds and their ability to fly away, following the wind and their dreams. – Lorenzo Quinn
